Product Description
RAPID EYEWEAR ASPEN SUNGLASSES
Aspen sunglasses are designed for high performance in a range of sporting and leisure activities. Their rubber inserts and vented lenses make Aspen especially suitable for extreme sports such as climbing (and mountaineering), skiing, snowboarding, hang-gliding, paragliding and water sports.
THE FRAMES
Made from ultra-tough TR90, the lightweight frame has rubber nose pads and side arm extensions for comfortable fitting on most sizes and shapes of head. The lens rims are enclosed, to keep out the elements.
Removable rubber side 'wings' change Aspen from a regular pair of sunglasses into, effectively, goggles, with the ultimate protection against the elements. Finished in an attractive green / grey matt color.
THE LENSES
The Aspen design features Rapid Eyewear's Frostech anti-fog and anti-glare lenses. This Category 3 lens is ideal for use at altitude.
Superb definition of terrain and objects is achieved through the filtering of blue light. The mirror finish adds an anti-glare capability.
The lenses have been coated to ensure they do not suffer from fogging, even when the rubber wings are fitted.
HEAD STRAP
A secure fitting head strap is included as standard, for use in all extreme sport situations.
UV PROTECTION AND CONFORMITY
The Aspen offer 100% UVA / UVB protection and conform to EN 1836 and US Z80.3 standards for safety eyewear.
POUCH
Each pair of Aspen comes with a microfiber carry pouch as standard. The pouch, which has draw-strings, doubles as a lint-free cleaning cloth.
SHIPPING
Shipping is free. Typical air freight shipping time is 7 - 10 days. Please note Amazon may quote longer shipping lead times - this is a default that we cannot change and it is not accurate.

Anti-Fog? I think not. Still a good buy!
By Kimberly D.
I bought these sunglasses because I have serious problems with light getting into my eyes from the sides and I didn't want to spend an insane amount of money on an actual pair of glacier goggles. A few things really need to be said here:Pros:1. These things look INCREDIBLE. They look good on you, they look good folded up, they look good hanging off of your shirt. The blue finish on the exterior surface of the lens catches the light and they just glow. You WILL get noticed with these - I know I did when I went out to lunch today. Even with the rubber shields on the side, the looks just don't stop.2. Looking through the lenses takes a little getting used to, as there is a slight tint around their outer ring to keep peripheral light from being so bright. Once you get past that, they are absolutely the most incredible pair of sunglasses I have ever looked through. Everything is incredibly sharp and detailed, even in the lower light of the evening, especially if it is in direct sunlight. They are absolutely first-rate. Rapid makes a big deal about their lens technology on their website and rightly so.3. I have a big head. End of story. The frames flex around me and hold to my whole head, not just squeezing at the temples. They are exceptionally comfortable when worn. Now for the cons, and they aren't little things.1. The frames for these glasses detail as 'ultra-rugged'. They might be made out of some new space-age material, but they feel like every other pair of $20 sunglasses out there - plastic. The ear pieces fit nicely against the front of the frames but they went from being stiff and 'new' to almost floppy in less than a day. I'll be tightening them and applying nail-polish for sure.2. The lenses are supposed to be anti-fog, and this is just flat out NOT true. Without cool air blowing directly on them, these lenses fog up quickly if you exert yourself at all and put off excess heat. This is seriously problematic when you put the optional rubber side-wings on the glasses to keep wind and light out, as the heat from your face has nowhere to go. I bought these specifically FOR this feature. Just sitting in my car with the windows cracked on a cold day, they started to fog up. Totally unacceptable. I'll either have to take the shields off of the sides or invest in a real anti-fog treatment for the inside of the lenses. I would never, ever put the strap on these things to fit them tighter against my head. I'd be terrified of how fast they'd fog up. I had to take them off while driving because every light I stopped at, they started fogging up, even with my window cracked open.If you can keep the lenses from fogging and do just a little bit of kit work on the hinges, these are a solid buy, especially for the price. When they're clear, they're the best pair of sunglasses I've ever owned, even amongst some $100+ frames. I can't rant enough about the visual quality of these lenses. Just be aware of what you're buying.

Nice Full Coverage Climbing Glasses
By Information Rambler
Recently started rock climbing outdoors, and needed good sunglasses that won't break the bank when I inevitably drop/damage them. I have really sensitive eyes, and so I was glad to find glasses that gave full-eye coverage. Worn them for a while now, both while climbing and just out and about. They've been comfortable and have held up so far.Haven't used the glacier sheilds yet, so I can't provide any feedback on that feature (hence minus one star).

Look pretty good
By Bazooka Joe
I would have given these 5 stars because they look great and seem to be pretty rugged. However like others have said, after wearing them a couple times the hinges become pretty loose. A very tiny dot of Loc-Tight (blue) takes care of it.
