I got these gloves for my husband, they are his all time favourite gloves for catching lobster. His last pair he had for several years and he used them a lot, several times a week during season. They were finally starting to fray around the edges and were more than over due for replacement. It should be noted that my husband is very hard on equipment and this is just his second pair in about 10 years. If you just want them for occasional use or general diving and not very frequent lobstering 1 pair may last a lifetime.

In the past I was going through a pair of $40-50 gloves in a year. Spiny lobsters have sharp points on them that just tear up regular dive gloves and fingers. I even used a bunch of Home Depot work gloves because they were cheaper. Tired of constantly getting cuts on my hands and fingers, I bought a pair of these three years ago. To date, they don't have a single tear in them. I can grab a lobster with no fear of getting poked at all. I thought I lost my original pair so I recently purchased another pair. Of course, after the new pair arrived, I found my old pair. Rather than return the new gloves, I gave them to a friend and he loves them too. These are not needle proof gloves. A lionfish spine can easily go through these (ouch!). So beware if you are killing those invasive bastages!

I bought a pair of these gloves about 10 years ago on my buddy's recommendation. I'm only replacing them now because I lost one. Otherwise, they probably would've lasted another 10 years. Last pair of gloves you'll ever buy (unless of course you lose them, lol)
