Product Description
As a supplier of military watches for the u.s. Navy seals and u.s. Air force, luminox watches are designed to handle any sort of environment at any given moment. Luminox expanded the collection to include an entire line of watches of many types and styles created for the active consumer, the sportsman, law enforcement and military groups. The advantage of a luminox in comparison to other watches is its glow-in-the-dark capability. Every luminox watch uses a self-powered system of illumination powered by very small gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules). These allow the watch to glow continuously for 25 years while having a much brighter illumination system. Luminox watches need no external light source to "charge" the point on the dial or hands in order to glow as do conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require the push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electroluminescence. Being able to read the watches in any conditions, even in total darkness, is an important requirement of many military and law enforcement agencies.

I love this watch. It's very comfortable to wear. I didn't know when I purchased it but when I received it I learned that the case is made of polymer. So it's very light, yet still "bullet proof". Luminox makes a great product. I have another one that I've owned for over ten years and still works great. Even the tritium markers still work! I bought this one because of the chronograph. Not because I broke my last one. Amazon had the best price I could find also. Can't go wrong here!

I saw this watch in a popular outdoor fitness magazine and it received excellent reviews. I did some research on the company and found that they offered a wide variety of models and styles, nearly all of which looked stylish and functional.I purchased this watch from "Count Shop." First clue, the package was thrashed. I noted the Count Shop postage was from Hong Kong. (Wish I'd known that sooner.) Second clue, the chrono second hand on the watch resets when you pull the crown out. However, it reset to the '58 second' position instead of straight up at the 1200 position. Same with the hand on the second-hand dial. Instructions indicate a means to properly adjust the second hands (such as after a battery change), but the fix didn't work. The watch, in general, looks as cheap and cheesy as it functioned.

I have a modest watch collection; Rolex, Breitling, Tag, Tudor, Casio. I tried the Luminox for the luminosity, which is great. My complaint is with the movement. The chronograph function counts in 1 second intervals. I expected at least 1/10 second for a quartz movement. The watch is very light and just feels cheap Admittedly, this is very subjective. Perhaps I'm just used to heavier, bulkier automatic watches. However, I really didn't think it was worth $300.00. There are a lot of very nice Seikos, Citizens, and Casios out there for that much.
