Product Description

The 116L is constructed to resist saltwater corrosion. Precision machined gears and spool spindles are stainless steel while spool and other external metal is chrome-plated brass. Star drag is easily adjusted to the reaction of a fish and special heat resistant brake lining discs dissipate heat & prevent lock-up. The 116L features black anodized, forged aluminum spools that help reduce weight and prevent corrosion. Line Capacity: 800 yds/80lb. Ratio: 2.1:1 Desc. 12/0.

Excellent Penn 4/0 reel that gets the job done!

I've use this reel, along with the Penn Mariner stand up rod, for a few trips "deep jigging" wrecks in Florida. Both this reel and the Penn Mariner rod handled Tuna, King Mackerel, Grouper and Amber-jacks flawlessly! Although the retrieve ratio on this Penn reel is about 2.5 to 1, the torque and power more than make up for the speed, especially when yo-yo-ing heavy jigs in deep water. Thanks for a great deal on a super Penn Reel.

116 senator proves itself

Spooled with 1000 yards suffix tritanium and landed a 7.5 foot sand tiger. Loud clicker and excellent drag. Great performance for great price.
