We use Silver Thread for salmon and steelhead fishing. We have been using this for several years. it holds up very well in the rivers, drift fishing. Which, is really hard on line. Like any line, after time it will start to fray, form rubbing against rocks and whatever else might be under the water. It casts wonderfully! Some of the places we fish, require a really long cast, and I love the way it comes off of the reel. The heavier weight line is harder for knot tying, but its a small price to pay. We have tried other lines, but a few years ago, our river was running a bit high, and I couldnt keep a 15 pound salmon on, they kept breaking off, with the other brands of line, at 20lb test. Switched back to Silver Thread, and didnt lose another fish. We have even switched to using it for small trout fishing... What can I say, its awesome.
