BLACKHAWK!'s Velocity X1 Jump Pack is constructed of heavy-duty 1000 denier nylon with quad-stitched seams and double-taped edges and made to U.S. Special Forces specifications. The Velocity is compatible with BLACKHAWK! Hydration System and offers an easy-access main compartment. Features: Military freefall jumpable with reinforced attachment system on bottom; S.T.R.I.K.E. webbing over entire pack; four interior equipment tie-down straps; eight interior equipment tie-down loops; eight exterior tie-down loops for equipment lowering lines and light stick placement; two adjustable compression straps with metal hardware; padded shoulder straps with dual-adjustment metal hardware; compartments are closed by durable YKK zipper and sliders with silent pulls; removable heavy-duty waist belt with three rows of S.T.R.I.K.E. webbing for a total of 12 slots; and a removable, adjustable chest strap. I used this bag for a short 2 day backpacking trip and it work pretty well. The construction of the bag is excellent and was not phased by any of the off path bushwacking I did. My only complaint with the bag is that for me personally the waist belt is totally useless due to my waist size. Even with the belt tightened all the way down it wasn't even close to fitting. You would probably have to have a 36" waist at a minimum for the belt to be useful. Blackhawk should redsign their waist belt on their bags to accomodate a wider range of users. This is a good bag but if you're thinking of using it for backpacking I would consider a traditional backpacking bag. Your back and shoulders will thank you for it.

I've aways been impressed on the quality and value of these tactical packs made by Blackhawk. Before I received this blackhawk velocity x1 pack I had the honor of purchasing the bigger brother of which was the velocity x3 jump pack. Awesome pack with good featuresThis is my favorite part of the review. This pack is made for free-fall and static line jumpers. AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!!! On the bottom of this Velocity pack there is an attachment for the airborne air-items.Whats needed: A Harness-Single Point Release(HSPR) that wraps around your ruck or pack and straps to the main harness on the chute pack. Lowering line: This lowers the attached pack when you are at 200 ft descending. (Keep your knees bent!Look at the Horizon!! M1950 weapons case.The main heavy duty link that attaches to the weapons case-Quick release link.And of course an Airborne qualified soldier with a T-10Charlie main and a reserve.Put your knees in the breeze.Reviews were done by marlon at tacticalpacksrus.com.
